Here Comes the Rain Again
Here comes the rain again
Falling on my head like a memory
Falling on my head like a new emotion
I want to walk in the open wind
I want to talk like lovers do
I want to dive into your ocean
Is it raining with you
Eurythmics
The rain falls hard on a hum-drum town
This town will drag you down.

Well not if you have enough Cachaca, limes and sugar. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday it rained, rained and rained. Did I mention the rain. The house has a porch that wraps around 3/4 of the house. The front faces the ocean which is now closer than normal. The waves will occasionally crash up on the road which is in front of the house and runs along the coast or what used to be beach. As you walk into the house from the front, first you navigate the stairs which lead up to the main floor one story up, the open kitchen is to your immediate left with a bar that goes around 3/4 of the kitchen. Gas stove, two sinks and a center island work space. Stainless LG refrigerator! Appliances do not last long in the humid salty environment. Books curl up with in hours of being in the house. All windows have plantation shutters and with screens. The breeze is constant and refreshing. The cook/housekeeper Iris complains on how unusually cold it is. (in Spanish of course). 20 to 22 Celsius is cold for Isla Colon. 22 = 71.6 F.
